PRESS RELEASE

Drawbridge’s large digital prints are at once captivating and unsettling. In this work she has enlarged small sections of imagery from popular crime drama, transforming them into works where passivity can exert a dominating presence. In this work she has enlarged small sections of imagery from popular crime drama, transforming them into works where passivity can exert a dominating presence.

Exploring the inhuman aspects of a digital world, the imagery is both transient and pervasive in nature. These vast human landscapes demand engagement, yet seem detached and are uncommunicative. Disturbance can be found in what is incomprehensible, and as the viewer approaches the printed surface disperses and moves away from the figurative to a more minimal intangible form.
